Donald R. Womeldorf, 88, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Gatehouse.
Born April 15, 1935 in Lock Haven, he was a son to the late Murice Womeldorf and Edith A. (James) Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Womeldorf; and siblings, Kenneth Womeldorf, Charles Wolfe, Raymond "Book" Wolfe, and Leonard Wolfe.
Donald honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life he worked at the Hammermill and Penn College.He enjoyed country music, jamborees, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, telling stories and gardening. He loved working in his garage and helping his brother refurbish tractors.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Beverly A. Englert, they were united in marriage on June 16, 1956; daughters, Colleen J. Hawk (Chris Eck) and Darlene E.McKean; grandchildren, Stacey Horton (Kris), Heath Hawk, and Marcus McKean; great-grandchildren, Katrin Horton, Oliver Hawk, Zander Hawk, Erik Horton, Lorilei Hawk and Lillian Hawk; a sister, Janice Connelley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in his name to the Susquehanna Health Foundation (Home Care and Hospice), 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or the Jersey Shore Honor Guard, 125 N. Main St, Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
A graveside service will be in Rest Haven Memorial park at a later date.
