Ranse E. Miller, 63, of Avis, passed away Sunday January 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 5, 1955 in Jersey Shore, he was the only son of Charles "Chase" and Jean Miller of Jersey Shore.

Ranse is survived by his parents and wife Catherine "Katie" Miller. Ranse and Katie were married in 1999 and spent over 20 wonderful years together.

Also surviving are his daughters, Jeanna T. (Joseph) Ananea Jr. of Lock Haven, Susan M. (Doug) Griffin of Anchorage, AK and Karey A. Molnar of Enola, PA; and son, Thomas J. (Christine) Molnar of East Brunswick, NJ. Ranse was known as 'Pappy' to his grand kids Luke, Tommy, Colin, Marley, Sammy, and Jason. Ranse will also be missed by his sisters, Debra (Robert) Crisinger of Mill Hall and Jerri (Tony) Keeler of Jersey Shore; 2 nieces, Monica and Shawna; 2 nephews, Brandon and Kurtis; and their families.

He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1975 and retired from West Pharmaceuticals last year. When Ranse was not at home talking with Tony on the phone, he could be found making the rounds at the Jersey Shore Elks, Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion. Ranse would want his friends to remember his sense of humor and to have a drink and remember the good times.

He was an avid NASCAR fan with a special affinity for The Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt. Ranse loved music and would often be heard singing his own version of Elton John, The Eagles, and AC/DC songs. While he rarely went into the ocean, he visited Ocean City, MD every year to visit his favorite watering holes and the parrots. Ranse's family and friends will never forget his laugh, his sayings, and the nicknames he created for everyone he knew.

A celebration honoring his life will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at the Loyal Order of Moose 207 North Main St., Jersey Shore. If you know Ranse, he would want you to stop by.

Family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made in his name to Mooseheart Child City and School, Inc., at http://www.mooseheart.org/ or 255 James J. Davis Dr, Mooseheart, IL 60539.

My deepest sympathy to the Miller family. I worked near Ranse many times at West. A song would come on that he liked and he would start singing. You will be missed.
