     Edgar C. Persun, 93, of Rauchtown, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
     Born September 15, 1925 in Allenwood, he was the son to the late Raymond and Alice M. (Derr) Persun. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen E. Persun on September 17, 2016.
     He was a member of the Oriole United Methodist Church and also a member of the Watsontown American Legion Post 323. Ed honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
     Ed was a retired foreman for the Department of Forestry. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
     He is survived by a son, Donald E. Persun (Virginia Briggs), of Palmetto, Fla.; a grandson, Rick N. (Teresa) Persun, of Georgetown, TX; a great-grandson, Cody Persun; and several nieces and nephews.
     A funeral service will be held 10 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends and family may call 6 to 8 PM Tuesday evening, April 2, 2019 at Welker Funeral Home.
     Ed will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, where he will be honored by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
