Clarence W. "Bill" Yost Jr., 77, of Antes Fort, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at The Gatehouse.
Born Oct. 18, 1941, in Lock Haven, he was the son to Clarence W. Yost Sr. and the former Kathryn M. Laubscher. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Constance A. Burchill, on Feb. 14, 2019.
Bill honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from PP&L in 2004 after 42 years as a lineman. In the 70s and 80s, Bill was on the St. John Lutheran Church Council for several terms and was involved with the Antes Fort Fire Company. While serving on the Antes Fort Village Park Recreation Committee, he graciously volunteered his time to mow the entire park and helped to install the ball field lights with his co-workers for free. Bill was a lifetime member of the Jersey Shore Elks and also the Jersey Shore Legion, where he was on the board of directors.
Bill enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin, playing guitar and talking on the phone, even though he would not admit it. The Yost family loved spending over 20 years at their river lot in Linden, where great friends and memories were made. After giving up the lot, his wife, Connie, and he would spend numerous hours on their front porch, during the warm months, chatting and waving to anyone that drove by and stopped in.
Surviving are daughter, Lynette Yost, of Antes Fort, and son, Rick Yost, of White Pine; his sister,  Kathie Ulmer-Horne, of Jersey Shore; brother, Randy Yost, of Jersey Shore; ex-daughter-in-law and more like a daughter, Carol Yost, of Antes Fort; and his grandchildren.
Bill's pride and joys were his grandchildren, Nicole, Hannah and Bryan Yost, and his great-granddaughter Adalynn Wool. Two of his greatest pleasures were watching Nicole and Hannah play softball and driving many miles to do so. With Bryan, he enjoyed sharing life lessons, hunting techniques and exchanging humorous jokes and stories. Adalynn brought so much joy to him and was the apple of his big blue eyes.
Bill and Connie were married for 55 years and seven months, while dating for six. They were separated for a mere 77 days since her passing on Feb. 14, and the couple is now reunited for happily ever after.
A time of visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker officiating.
Following the memorial service at the church, Bill will be honored by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA 17701. The funds will be used to purchase a new recliner for room 312 at the Gatehouse to make other families comfortable during their difficult time.
