Betty J. Shaffer

     Betty J. Shaffer, 76, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Muncy Place. Her husband, Clarence Shaffer, passed away in 2012.
     Betty was born on Jan. 26, 1947, and was the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy Feidler Divine.
     She worked various jobs throughout her life, but in recent years had worked as a caregiver. She was a member of Phelps Chapel. Betty enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading books.
     She is survived by two sons, Dale Stroble, of Charlton, and Kevin (Suzanne) Stroble, of Jersey Shore; two stepsons, Clarence Shaffer, of Montoursville, and Craig Shaffer, of Columbus, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Roberta Smith, of Avis; one brother, Donald Divine of Fla; six sisters, Pauline Naugle, of Avis, Florence Thompson, of Rauchtown, Letha Hostrander, of Avis, Glenetta Raup, of Salladasburg, Patricia Prentiss, of Salladasburg, and Lois Breon, of Jersey Shore; ten grandchildren/step-grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren/step-great grandchildren; two great-great-step-granddaughters.
     She was predeceased by a son, Bryan Stroble; and stepson, Richard Shaffer; as well two brothers, William Divine and Jack Divine; and an infant sister, Marsha Divine.
     Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
