Blake F. Getgen

     Blake F. Getgen, 32, of Jersey Shore, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Warrenton, VA.

     Born July 2, 1990 in Williamsport, the son to James M. Jr. (Cindy Getgen) and the former Tammy R. Overdorf (Timothy Getgen).

     Blake was an avid outdoors-man and loved fishing, riding dirtbikes, truck pulls and playing cornhole. His greatest joy in life was his children and taking his son hunting. Blake was known for his love for people and his big personality. His laugh was so contagious and if you knew Blake, you knew he was around when you heard it. If you were a friend to Blake you were a lucky person, and if not, you would be friends after 10 minutes of talking to him. He was wild and crazy but would give anyone anything he had at no expense to him. The time we had with him was cut short but thankfully he has given us a lifetime of memories to love and cherish. 

     In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Bryer and Adleigh Getgen; significant other, Tiffany Alexander; sister, Nicole (Justin) Ulsamer; step sisters, Brandie (Wes) Brion and Beth (Aaron) Spotts; step brother, Timothy Getgen Jr.; half brother, Ashley (Michelle) Edwards; maternal grandmother, Donna Overdorf; nieces and nephews, Alyah, Vadah, and Brody Ulsamer; several step nieces and nephews; and his dog and best friend, Squint.

     A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. Friday at Welker Funeral Home. 

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the the memorial fund for his children at Jersey Shore State Bank, Bryer and Adleigh Getgen Fund, 115 S. Main St., Jersey Shore.
