Brenda Welshans Obituary

Brenda Lee (Fisher) Welshans, age 60, of Trout Run, Pa passed away unexpectedly in her home on the morning of August 12, 2024.

Brenda was born on October 30, 1963 in Jersey Shore, Pa. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Carolyn (Wool) Fisher, both of whom survive her. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Fisher, husband of Karen, Jersey Shore, Pa.

Brenda graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1981. Following graduation, she arduously worked her way through various local financial institutions, including Jersey Shore State Bank, M&T Bank, Riverview Bank, and worked in commercial lending at First Citizens Community Bank at the time of her death. She prided herself in her dedication to her employers and customers. Outside of work, she enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, cheering for the Denver Broncos, and country music, particularly George Strait.

She was also an avid bowler and active in local bowling programs. Brenda served as the secretary and treasurer of various Women’s leagues, and most recently as the association manager of the Lycoming Country USBC Association. This dedication saw many a family vacation cut short to "go bowling," but was recognized when she was elected to the Lycoming County USBC Hall of Fame for meritorious service in March 2024. But of all these things, nothing brought Brenda more happiness and joy than her children and grandchildren.

Her three children, Amanda (Zachary) Wallace of Muncy; Katelyn (Seth) Klusewitz of El Paso,Texas; and Logan (Jenessa) Welshans of Jersey Shore are devastated by her passing. They remember the joy in her eye at becoming a “Nana” to her 7 grandchildren: Magnolia, Cainen, Micah, Wesley, Barrett, Evangeline, and Adalie.

Whether it be trips to Knoebels, beach vacations, or gatherings at her home, Brenda epitomized what it means to be a mother and grandmother, and embraced those roles with pride. Most of all Brenda will be missed, by her Monk, her Bug, and her Loguana, and all those whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Brenda’s name be made to a local SPCA or charity of your choice.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. Burial will be private in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Pennycoff will officiate.
