Carl R. Bloom

     Carl R. Bloom, 80, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing in Jersey Shore.
     Born Sept. 3, 1942 in Clearfield, he was the son to the late Clarence Bloom and the former Lula Rummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Bloom.
     Carl was a graduate of Clearfield High School. He retired from American Home Foods in Milton, after many years of service. Carl was a member of Crossroads Church, served as a lay speaker for many years, and also volunteered his time coaching Little League. He was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed woodworking.
     He is survived by his loving wife, the former Lucy A. Schurer, they were united in marriage on July 25, 1970. Also surviving are his sons, Randall W. (Kim), of York, Guy R. (Lisa), of  Memphis, Tenn., Rick C. (Lisa), of Collomsville, Dan V. (Sarah), of Avis and Chris (Kelsey), of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Hannah, Reece, Galen, Hunter, Addison, Owen, Wentworth, and Cassidie; sisters, Peggy (Don) Fetzer, Elaine (Fred) Dunlap, Colleen (Dan) Crowley, and Sandy (Dale) Knepp; and a daughter-in-law, Cara Wehler.
     Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
