Carl W. Stark

    Carl W. Stark, 87, of Jersey Shore passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehab.  Carl and his wife, the former Rose Anne Kulp, were married on June 6, 1958 and celebrated 64 years together. 

    He was born on July 12, 1935 in Cogan House Township and was the son of Robert and Ellen Friendberg Stark. 

    Carl served his country in the U.S. Army. During his service, he was stationed in Japan. Carl was a truck driver, transporting modular homes and setting them in place.  He was a member of Missionary Alliance Church. Carl enjoyed gardening, hunting and tinkering with lawnmowers. He also restored a 1947 Willys-Jeep.

    In addition to his wife Rose, Carl is survived by two sons, Carl “Russ” (Debra) Stark of S. Williamsport and Jeffrey A. (Joan) Stark of Williamsport; a sister Elizabeth Shoemaker of Allenwood; 3 granddaughters, Melissa Ranck-Reese and Tania Legg and Christine Woods; six great grandchildren, Cameron Tupper and Skyler Reese, Krista Jones and Emma Legg and Arwen and Garrett Waite.

    A time of visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home Funeral, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, followed by a brief prayer at 10:45 a.m. at the Welker Funeral Home. Burial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel, 1103 Locust St, Jersey Shore, with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. Pastor Robert Parish will officiate.
