Carol J. Schurer

     Carol J. Schurer, 82, of Jersey Shore, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.
     Born Dec. 28, 1940, in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter to the late Lewis C. Brickley and the former Elsie Dolan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph L. Schurer.
     Carol was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was dedicated to serving her community in her 33 years as an R.N., serving as a school nurse, borough council, school board, hospital board, library board and the Central Region School Nurse Assoc. Carol was an accomplished pianist and organist, and played for numerous churches in the area.
     She is survived by her brother, Larry (Joanne) Brickley; brother-in-law, Gene Schurer; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Schurer; and several nieces and nephews.
     Carol wished to give special thanks to Belinda Moore, Linda Pond and Rich Ulmer for all they did for her.
     In lieu of flowers, Carol requested memorial contributions in her name be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
     A time of visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at church followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Rest Haven Memorial Park.
