Charles E. Niemiec, 81, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Williamsport Home.
Born Oct. 26, 1942, in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Alexander "George" Niemiec and the former Maybelle Wolford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bonnie Sweigart; two sisters, Stella and Sarah Niemiec; and three brothers, Carl, Clair, and Stanley Niemiec.
Charles honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired after 36 years from Textron as a machine operator. Charles enjoyed building large model ships and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his stepdaughters, Marie E. (Matthew) Needham, of Mechanicsburg and Susan E. Severino, of Jersey Shore; a stepson, Samuel D. Lehman, of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Samantha Lehman, Sophie Severino, Journey Needham, Eric Lehman, Elizabeth Severino and Trent Severino; several special nieces and nephews; a son-in-law, Richard Severino, of Jersey Shore; and siblings, Virginia Blair of Ohio, Matilda (Carl) Beck of Loganton, Rose McCloskey of Dunnstown, Doris (Ron) McCollum of Pottsgrove, and Clifford (Cindy) Niemiec of Oval.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701. Services will be private. He will be laid to rest in the Mount Union Cemetery. Pastor Kenneth Guisewhite will officiate.
