Clair R. Mantle, 86, of Jersey Shore, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 29, 1936 in Rauchtown, he was a son to the late Alfred Mantle and the former Edna Laubach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Craig A. Mantle; sisters, Gertrude Leer and Isabel Yorks; and brothers, Nevin Mantle, Paul Mantle, and A. Boyd Mantle.
Clair was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from Alcan after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of Belle Springs Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carol F. Ferguson; son, Chris R. Mantle (Robin), of Dillsburg; daughters, Cheri E. Mantle, of Grand Junction, Colo. and Caren R. Brooks, of Jersey Shore; brother, Ralph Mantle, of Jersey Shore; sisters, Carol (Dale) Straub, of Jersey Shore and Marjorie H. Lee, of Monroe, La.; 3 grandchildren, Brittney (David) Worden, Brent Hermanussen, and Bryce Hermanussen; and 2 great-grandchildren, Eli and Aidan Worden.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Furman will officiate.
