David Peluso Obituary


     David Peluso, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Nov. 1, 2021. Born and raised in Jersey Shore, David moved his family back to his hometown after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force as a Disabled Veteran. He served in the Air Force for 16 ½ years, including time during the Vietnam War.  
     David was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Lynn Peluso Olsen, brothers, Nichoals and Fredrick Peluso and parents, Lena Poleto and Anthony Peluso.
     David is survived by his English bride of 58 years, Jean D. Bloom Peluso; two daughters, Kim A. Cuebas (William) and Lynnann Charnego (John); as well as five granddaughters, Megan Olsen, Allison Hook (Adam), Lesli Cuebas (Shawn), Madalyn Charnego and Natalie Charnego; and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Bell, Chase Tibbens and Gabriella Hook.
     David was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. David was also an active member of the Jersey Shore community. He served on the Jersey Shore Area School Board for 12 years and was a Borough Council Member for 8 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, the Sons of Italy and a long-time parishioner of Saint Luke’s Catholic Church.  
     David’s greatest joy in life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore. Father John Chmil will officiate.
     He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
     The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dave's Hospice team for their exceptional care and kindness.
