Dean R. Showers Sr.

     Dean R. Showers Sr., 71, of Allenwood, Pa., passed away Jan. 3, 2022, at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, Pa. surrounded by his family, after an extended illness.    Born on Oct. 14, 1950, in Danville, Pa., he was the son of the late George E. Showers Sr. and Anna R. (Gulliver) Showers.  He was married to the former Deborah Kay Bradshaw, who passed away on April 2, 2020. He attended the White Deer Valley Baptist Church, Allenwood, Pa.
     He was a 1968 graduate of the Warrior Run High School, Turbotville, Pa.  Upon graduation, Dean studied electronics at the former Williamsport Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology.  Later in his life, he earned an Associate Degree in Business Management from McCann School of Business and Technology, Sunbury, Pa.  He worked as an electrician for ACF Industries, Milton, Pa., Pullman Power Products, Williamsport and Springs Window Fashions in Montgomery, where he retired as their plant electrician.
     Dean enjoyed trying new and unusual foods while carrying on with a lively conversation with anyone he met.  He also enjoyed nature, gardening and raising small farm animals on his farmette while decked out in his straw hat.  His truest joy however was the celebration of his children’s achievements and accomplishments.
     He is survived by four sons: Dean R. (Robbie) Showers Jr. of Allenwood, Pa., Wayne E. (Billie) Showers, Benjamin J. (Lori) Showers and Justin M. Showers both of Watsontown, Pa. and a daughter, Cynthia A. (Chris) Kaiser of Allenwood, Pa.  Surviving is a brother, George E. (Kay) Showers Jr., Allenwood, Pa. and a sister, Janet M. (Andy) Sellard, Allenwood, Pa.  Dean was blessed with nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great grandson and four step-great grandchildren.
     In addition to his parents and wife, Dean was predeceased by his infant sisters and brother (triplets) and a step-grandson.
     A memorial service to honor Dean’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at the New Life Church, 1006 Village Rd., Muncy, Pa., with his friend, Paster Robert Lauver, officiating.  Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Montoursville Cemetery, Montoursville, Pa.
