Duane A. Brickley, of Nippenose Valley, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024. He passed peacefully at the Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation, where he was a resident in his final days.
He was born April 11, 1929, in Avis, to the late Argyle (Jim) Brickley and Eleanor E. (Rodabaugh). He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Ann (Smith); two sisters, Louella Snyder (Lynn) and Sara Pfleegor (Thomas); and his stepmother, Myrtle Brickley.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Diane E. Bray (William) of Cleveland Heights, Oh. and Karen G. McNamara (Thomas) of Lake Wylie, Sc.; his grandson, Sean T. McNamara (Megan); and two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Molly.
Duane stated months before his passing that he’d âhad a good lifeã. Duane had served as a member of the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission, Secretary of the Limestone Township, and President of the Oval Oriole Water Association. He was a dairy farmer until he started driving dump truck. (Brickley Trucking). Duane continued crop farming throughout his life for as long as he was able.
Memorial services will be held at a date to be announced by the family. The family requests that in lieu of gestures of condolences or flowers, donations be made to the Oval Cemetery Association and sent to Linda Thompson, 6726 S. Rte. 44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
