Elmer L. "Bud" Huntington, 78, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1944, in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Harry Huntington and the former Mary Letterman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brown and Ross Fye.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Champion parts as an industrial electrician. Bud attended the First United Methodist Church, enjoyed traveling, and his greatest joy in life was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Donna M. Johnson. They were united in marriage on Nov. 1, 1968. Also surviving are two sons, Scott A. Huntington, of Jersey Shore, and Jerry L. (Jackie) Huntington, of Howard; six grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Katie, Nicholas, Cheyenne and Sierra; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sandra Gail (Bob) Knarr of Middleburg, Ehtel and Nina.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service Monday evening at Welker Funeral Home. Following the service, full military honors will be conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. The Rev. Calvin Phillips will officiate.
