Eugene Earl Palski, 88, of Limestone Township, passed away peacefully at the Gatehouse March 15, 2025 with his son and daughter-in-law by his side.
Born in Glen Richey, Clearfield County, on July 15, 1936, the son of the late Anthony and Dorthy (Rummings) Palski.
Gene played basketball in high school; 3rd base for Lehmans Pharmacy in the Jersey Shore fast pitch softball league, and bowled in the Jersey Shore YMCA league. Gene graduated in 1955 from Jersey Shore High School and was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Athletics Award.
He started work in Elementary School; hand setting bowling pins and continued his long working career with various other jobs, such as picking and selling trailing pine, cutting stone in a slate quarry, was a linotype operator for the Lock Haven Express, a loan officer for the Commonwealth Bank, owned his own printing shop then retired from Plankenhorn Stationary at the age of 85! In retirement, Gene loved working outside on his lawn and was normally seen on his tractor mowing the grass.
Gene was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Uncle. Always enjoyed family events and time spent with his Family. Always pleasant, quick with a smile, laughter and to lend a hand. He will be very missed!
Surviving are his children, RuthAnn (John) Barnett and Eric (Cheryl) Palski; stepchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Hill and Ryan Carson; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grand children; brother, Raymond (Cathy) Palski; and a sister, Connie (Percy) Emert. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 32 years, Donna (Ricks) Palski, and brother James Palski.
We would also love to give an extreme heartfelt Thank You, to his caregivers, Diane Schlee, Cynthia Steinbacher, Ann Toner, and Terri Eck. He loved each and every one of you.
The family will receive family and friends at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 North Main St., Jersey Shore at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Service to follow at noon. The Chaplain Mark Beard officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
