Florence Marie (Cline) Edwards, 92, a long-time resident of Woolrich, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2020, at home in Milton surrounded by her devoted and loving family.
She was born in Charlton, Oct. 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Alfred and Lena Grace (Geiger) Cline.
Florence graduated in 1946 from Lock Haven High School. She was married Aug. 9, 1947, for 71 years to her husband, Melvin (Pete), who preceded her in death in 2019.
Florence worked at the Smart Shop in Lock Haven, Woolrich Company Store and Woolrich Woolen Mill, where she met her husband. In her younger years she was an avid tennis player with the ladies in Woolrich. Florence was a member and very active with the Garman Lutheran Church, Bridge Club in Williamsport, and was an excellent quilter making over 300 beautiful quilts in her lifetime.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (Jody) Edwards, Milton, and Jeffrey (Robin) Edwards, Maryland; grandson, Daniel (Hope) Edwards, Milton; granddaughter, Christina (Nicholas) Fellander, Washington, two great-grandsons, Dylan Edwards, Milton, and Dominic (Lexi) Mahoney, Washington.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Leonard, Charles and Richard, and a sister, Dora Mae Schlesinger.
A special thank you to her home caregiver Lucetta John from At Home Quality Care, nurses from Susquehanna Hospice Care, Pastor Tom Brokaw and Pastor Gary Schumway.
Private graveside service will be held at Woolrich Cemetery with a memorial service at the convenience of the family.
