Gary Pappas Obituary

     Gary C. Pappas Sr., 76, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital surrounded by his wife and daughters.

     Born July 22, 1949 of Niskayuna, NY he was the son to the late Christ Pappas and the former Clara Mae Maryea.

     Gary honorably served his country in the United States Army from November 22, 1966 to October 31, 1969, a survivor of the Tet Offensive in 1968. He was a member of the Legion and VFW. Gary enjoyed fishing and was a dedicated, hardworking husband and father. He retired as a Millwright at Coastal Aluminum in Williamsport. After retirement, he fabricated and built old cars and tractors.

     He is survived by his loving wife, the former Carol A. Stine, they were united in marriage on September 20, 1986; daughters, Lucy A. (John) Cichy of Rotterdam, NY, Brenda S. Pappas of Cogan Station, and Stacy L. Pappas of Williamsport; a son, Gary C. (Lynn) Pappas Jr. of Vandalia, MI; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cecilia Aunchman of NY. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 18 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
