George A. Hartranft

     George A. Hartranft, 71, of Avis, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.

     Born November 23, 1951 in Williamsport, he was a son to the late Donald Hartranft and the former Doris Gephart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dewey J. Hauser.

     George was a 1970 graduate of Williamsport High School and graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology. He worked at HRI for 18 years, and was an avid sportman, enjoying hunting, fishing and the outdoors.His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Christina M. "Tina" Hartfranft;son, Sean A. (Melony) Hartranft, of Montoursville; bonus children, Jacqueline L. (Amanda) Moore, of Jersey Shore and Jeremy C. (Kassandra) Moore, of Hughesville; a grandchild, Aubri (John) Hartranft; brother, David (Sarah) Hartfranft, of Williamsport; sisters, Donna (Thomas) Gouldy, of Montoursville, Sandy (Dennis) Lukowsky, of Williamsport, Virginia (Paul) Bartron, of Williamsport, and Phyllis Capps, of Williamsport.

     A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.Visitation will be held from 12 noon Monday, until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. Father Bert Kozen will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
