Golda M. Beach, 102, of Jersey Shore, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Dec. 18, 2019, at ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore.
Born Jan. 17, 1917, in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter to the late Charles Getz and the former Vennia Helsel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd Richard "Dick" Beach, a brother, Francis Getz, and sister, Marjorie Getz Wilhem.
Golda helped run Beach's Restaurant on Main Street in Jersey Shore, known for their ham sandwiches and homemade pies. She was an avid golfer and was named Club Champion at Clinton Country Club in Lock Haven. Golda enjoyed playing the organ and was also an avid bridge player until the age of 102.
Golda was a member of the Junior Service Club and the Historical Society. She also belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was the oldest living member of the church. She would have reached the age of 103 on Jan. 17, 2020.
She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed their visits at Manor Care where she resided in her later years. Golda led a good life and was a blessing to everyone who knew her.
Surviving are her son, Richard (Stephanie) Beach, of Hatfield; a daughter, Diane M. (Jack) Wolfe, of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Steve Wolfe, Adam Beach, Stephanie Beach Seeley, and Marianne Beach; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held noon Monday, Dec. 23, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Monday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home.
She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
