Grant Long Obituary



       Grant William Long of Jersey Shore, entered his long sleep peacefully and without pain on Sunday Feb. 14. He was on his couch with his sweet dog, Trixie, watching TV. He has gone home to be with God and the family gone before him. One day, the circle will be unbroken.
       Born on Aug. 3, 1983, the son of the late Grant G. Long Jr. and Kaye Hopple Long.
       He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 2001. He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He received an associate degree in welding from Triangle Tech. He worked for several companies traveling to many places to work as a code welder on power plants.
       He was a member of BSA Troop 31 and Woapeu Sisilija Lodge 343 Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of American Legion Post 36.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his sister, Katie M Terry, and two nieces, Cheryl and Laurel; his stepbrother, Steven C. Long of Tucson, Ariz.; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant G. and Jane Long of Northumberland.
       A time of visitation will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. John Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore.
       He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery at a later date.
       Family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to The New Love Center, P.O. Box 504, Jersey Shore, PA 17740. The Center is fighting food insecurity in Lycoming and Clinton Counties in conjunction with the Central PA Food Bank.
