Helen L. Wolfe

     Helen L. Wolfe, 70, of Weaver Hill Road, Lock Haven, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, after a bravely fought battle with cancer.
     Born on June 11, 1951, in Phillipsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret (Hull) Newman. Many stories are told of the adventures Helen would go on and the light-hearted trouble she would get into with her brother, sisters and neighborhood friends.
     Helen was a 1970 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. As a proud Panther, she was often involved with planning reunions and alumni events. Helen, who was known for being a hard worker, retired from the Lock Haven University custodial staff. She was well-loved by her coworkers as well as her "kids" at Woolridge Hall, many of whom kept in touch long after they left the school.
     Helen met the love of her life in the late Raymond E. Wolfe. They were married on August 28, 1998 but were together for well over 30 years before Ray's passing.   After they both retired, they were rarely seen apart.   Helen and Ray loved camping at the Haneyville Campground and attending the Nittany Antique Machinery Show in Centre Hall where they would show Ray's John Deere tractors. They loved country music and were sure to be found at the annual bluegrass festival. Helen an Ray were members of the Lock Haven Loyal Order of the Moose and enjoyed spending their evenings with their friends there. We know that Helen and Ray are now reunited once again and doing what they loved.
     Helen enjoyed cooking and baking and would regularly be asked to supply a signature dish such as her famous banana split cake, ham pot pie, or macaroni and cheese. It was often said that anyone who left her house hungry only had themselves to blame.
     Helen was the life of the party! She was always up for planning a cruise or a trip âout over the mountainã to Lost Acres of Pat Reeders. She had wonderful luck with slot machines, rip-off tickets and raffles. She loved to dance and had a quick wit that kept everyone around her laughing. Her fun-loving and kind nature endeared her to so many who will miss her beyond words. The world was a better, brighter place because she was in it.
     In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by her sister, Carol Jean (Tom) Wagner and an infant sister, Sarah. She is survived by two daughters, Wendi (Art) Dawes of Flemington and Jamie (James) Reilley of Alloway, N.J., one son, James Aaron, three grandchildren, one brother, John (Alana) Newman and two sisters, Trudy Fravel (Kerry Stover) and Janice (Leonard) Wolfe.
     Services and internment will be private. She will be laid to rest in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven, beside her husband.
