Howard O. Bay, 86, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully after a five year battle with dementia, on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at the Gatehouse.
Born July 11, 1932, in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Jasper Bay and the former Thelma Hawkins.
Howard honorably served his country in the United States Army and retired from PPL after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club, the Jersey Shore Legion and the Jersey Shore VFW. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson for many years. Howard was well loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his three daughters, Lori A. Bay, of Williamsport, MarLee M. (Robert Jr.) Roles, of Montoursville and Kathleen S. (Christopher) McKeown, of Hughesville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jasper Bay; four sisters, Phyllis Hensler, Nancy Watts, Donna Koury and Carol Baird; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service honoring the life of Howard will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 5, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Howard will be honored by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard following the service. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Welker Funeral Home. The Chaplain Zelma Lang will officiate.
Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
