James W. Allen

     James W. Allen, 90, of Jersey Shore, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Jersey Shore Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

     Born August 5, 1934 in Flemington, he was a son to the late James W. Allen and the former Grace E. Miller.

     Jim was a 1952 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven State College. He also received his MBS from Clarkson College. He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

     For 37 years he was a Science Teacher at Jersey Shore High School. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jersey Shore.

     He is survived by his loving wife, the former Betty L. Shangraw, they were united in marriage on June 17, 1962; a son, Stephen M. (Stephanie) Allen of Peachtree City, GA; 2 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert W. Allen of Mill Hall.

     A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker will officiate.
