James L. Wool, 76, of Antes Fort, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home watching pony pulls.
Born March 29, 1948 in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Howard J. Wool and the former Anna Steppe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Lynn and Kathrine Wagner; his son-in-law, Wesley Green; and five siblings
Jim was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He worked as an Iron Worker for Union 772. He was a member of the Moonlight Square Dance Band, enjoyed hunting and the horse and pony pulls, and was an avid string instrument player. Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his children and grandchildren play softball.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Mary T. Meyer; children, Jeanette Wehler, Dusty Green, Jessie Wool, Jamie (Brian) Watkins, and Darrin (Tish) Bauer; grandchildren, Hailey, Tiffany, Cheyanne, Steel, Madison, Jake, Jordyn, Tiyler, Abby and Ally; great-granddaughter, Natalie; and siblings, Alice Purvis, Carrie (Ken) Fisher, George (Eileen) Wool, Howard (Carol) Wool, Ann (Harvey) Fink, and Rose Bueno (Bill).
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, and also on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 at Welker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the Antes Fort Fire Hall.
