Jeffrey S. Engel, 63, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born August 9, 1961 in Williamsport, he was a son to the late William Engel and the former Lucille Wrench. Jeff was a man of impeccable character.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, a motorcycle rider before anything else. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, was an active member and former President of Post 36 American Legion Riders, Post Commander of the Jersey Shore American Legion, loved his country and loved his family. Jeff enjoyed restoring old trucks, living on the mountain, Old Milwaukee and Ezra Brooks. As a strong supporter of Veterans, he worked tirelessly with Post 36 ALR and Heroes & Horses. He retired from DCNR after many years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gretchen Engel; son, Kyle (Mandi) Engel of Rauchtown; brother, Bill (Inger) Engel of Bastress; sister, Suzie (Donnie) Saar of Woolrich; and a grandson, Kade.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, Dec. 27 at Crossroads Church, 1454 PA-44, Jersey Shore. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at Crossroads Church. He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jersey Shore American Legion Riders, 320 Seminary St, Jersey Shore.
