Jeffrey F. Kontz

      Jeffrey Fitzgerald Kontz passed away at home on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa (Hornberger) Kontz.
      Born on July 23, 1964, in Williamsport, he was the son of Kenneth Kontz and Bonnie Phillips.
      Jeffrey was a natural born storyteller, quick-witted, and loved to make those around him smile. He loved most genres of music, but had a particular fondness for Dave Mathews Band.
      He loved his drums, was self-taught, and shared this passion with his son, Justin.
      Jeff also loved to connect with his daughter, Jordanne, on midnight calls, just to talk about their days.
      Being a military enthusiast, Jeff loved all history wrapped around the military, including building model planes, collecting insignia, and visiting Gettysburg for war reenactments. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
      At any given time, you could find Jeff down by his "man cave" at the end of the yard, grilling, smoking, and barbecuing any type of meat, even in the dead of winter. He also loved to share his masterpieces with family and friends.
      Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son, Justin Kontz (Shawn-Marie Lapp), of Williamsport; his daughter, Jordanne (Caleb Kolb), of Troy; grandchildren, Ecko Kolb, Ezra Kolb and Paisley Neidig; and his sisters, Vivian Kontz, of Reading, and Lisa Park, of Indian Rock Beach, Fla.
      Jeff was employed by The Williamsport Hospital for 20+ years, West Company for 7 years, and worked with his brother-in-law at Mazzante Disposal for many years.
      He is predeceased by his father, Kenneth Kontz; mother, Bonnie Phillips; and stepfather, Kenneth Phillips.
      A memorial service will be held at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 North Main Street, Jersey Shore PA, 17740 at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022.
