Jennie E. Shafer

   Jennie E. Shafer 80, of Towanda, PA went to join our Heavenly Father on February 10, 2024 at UPMC in Williamsport, PA.

   Jennie was born on August 12, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to the late William DickHoff and late former Theresa Penny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Carpenter and daughter-in-law, Dawn M. Waldrop.   

   Jennie was loved by everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her children, Marla “Marla Mae” Bennett of Towanda , PA (Josh Sewell), Daniel “Danny” Waldrop of Auburn, Illinois (Sondra), William “Billy” Waldrop of Virden, Illinois (Brandi Corder) and Oris “Eddie” Waldrop, Jr. of Palmyra, Illinois (Terra Whalen), her best companion and cat, Paisley; bonus son, Eugene “Skeeter” Donajkowski and bonus daughters, June Furgeson, Jenny Lee Shafer, Kelly Shafer, and Carrie Shafer; grandchildren, Marisha Bennett of Towanda, Pa (Cheyan Hatcher), Claudia and Grace Waldrop of Auburn, Illinois, Bethann Waldrop of Carbondale, Illinois, William B. Waldrop of Marion, Illinois, Nicki Waldrop of Farmersville, Illinois, Danielle Mccoy of Springfield, Illinois, Eddie Waldrop III of Springfield, Illinois, Vanla Fowler of Springfield, Illinois, and Madalyn Waldrop of Palmyra, Illinois; bonus granddaughter, Sophia Dimitratos; a brother, Herman Lokaitis of Cantrall, Illinois; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

   Jennie’s daughter Marla would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who helped to take care and love her momma and just remember momma loved you all and appreciated all of you for all you did for her.

   Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

   Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home in Jersey Shore.
