Joan S. Harer

     Joan S. Harer, 91, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.

     Born January 30, 1933 in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter to the late Joseph Seewald and the former Helen Feerrar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles R. Harer on March 2, 2009. They were united in marriage on April 5, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore.

     Joan was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and the Williamsport Area Community College. For many years, her and her husband were the Owners of Harer Photo and also the Owners of Raups and Lurias Ladies Apparel.

     She is survived by her son, Robert A. (Theresa) Harer, of Jersey Shore; two grandchildren, Ryan and Aaron; and a sister, Sandra Quarterson, of Mechanicsburg.

     A private family graveside service will be held in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Joan's name be made to Wings of Love Community Church, 699 Southmont Ave., Williamsport, PA 17702.

     Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
