Joanne B. Wenner, 83, of Bastress, passed away July 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 10, 1940 in Williamsport, she was a daughter to the late Edward Lorson and the former Dorothy Bower. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert F. Wenner on January 25, 2022, they were united in marriage on June 3,1961; a brother, James Lorson; and a brother-in-law, Charles Tacka.
Joanne was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Earlier in her life she worked at the Grit. She is survived by a son, Daniel J. (Susan) Wenner of Williamsport; daughter, Tammy M. (Tim) Sayles of Shelbyville, Tenn; sisters, Carol Tacka of Williamsport, Linda (Dave) Bartges of Williamsport, and Nancy (Ken) Bashista of Montgomery; brothers, Larry Lorson of Williamsport, John (Ellen) Lorson of Willliamsport, Steven (Denise) Lorson of Duboistown, and Dennis (Dawna) Lorson of Williamsport; her grandchildren, Nathan (Laura), Cody (Krysta), Cortney (Jake), Justin (Jolie), Nicole (Brian), and Eric (Alayna); great-grandchildren, Paisley, Braxton, Tucker, Alexis, Alan, Audrey, Parker, and Layken; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Lorson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Karen Welshans, McKenna Walborn, and all the other loving caregivers for their exceptional love and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6001 Jacks Hollow Rd, Williamsport. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m Sunday evening, July 14 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
