Karen A. Stevenson, 69, of Cogan Station, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 22, 1953 in Jersey Shore. She was the daughter of the late Carl Sitler and Aleda (Shirley) Sitler.
She married the love of her life, Wilmer J. Stevenson on April 6, 1974. They celebrated 47 years of marriage prior to his passing in March of 2022.
Karen graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1972. She worked for Brodart then C.A. Reed for many years prior to their closing in 1995. That same year she started working at Construction Specialties from which she retired from in March of 2020. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family, be it a Sunday dinner or a family picnic. She had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed attending services at State Road United Methodist Church.
She leaves behind two daughters, Martha Spring (Frank) of Williamsport and Cathy McAnelly (William) of Williamsport and three granddaughters whom she adored, Kendall, Sarah and Emily. As well as two sisters, Karla Stull (Rusty) of Lock Haven and June Hinds (Randy) of Muncy; and a special sister in law, Martha Ohl of Walnutport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at Welker Funeral Home. The Pastor Elizabeth Jackson will officiate. Burial will be at the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
