Lee Schrack Obituary


     Lee N. “Pete” Schrack, 93, of Loganton, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Williamsport Home.

     Born July 17, 1929 in Loganton, he was a son to the late John B. Schrack and the former Cora I. Grenninger.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Leotta J. Slaterback on July 25, 2022. They were united in marriage on August 30, 1948. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, William and Eddison “Mick”.

     Pete was a 1947 graduate of Sugar Valley High School. He owned and operated Schrack Valley Service which he founded in 1960. Pete also provided buses for Keystone Central School District for 42 years. In later years, he started a liquid, sewage and septic business and also an excavating company. He retired in 2004 after suffering a stroke. The business was then taken over by his son, Steven K. Schrack.

    Pete was a member of the Laffayette Masonic Lodge #199, Jaffa Shrine Temple of Altoona, and the Jaffa Shrine of Clinton County. He was also a member of the Williamsport Consistory,  the Mill Hall Kiwanis Club, and the St. John Lutheran Church in Loganton. He also served his community on the Loganton Sewer Authority for many years.

     He is survived by his son, Steven K. Schrack of Loganton; daughter, Debra (Doug) Wilson of Ellicott City, Maryland; a step granddaughter; two step great-grandsons; and a brother, Phillip Schrack of Woodbridge, VA.

     Funeral services will be held on 12 noon, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Visitation will be held at 11 am until the time of service Tuesday at Welker Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Eckenroad will officiate.

     He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.
