Leila M. Hiller, 91, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at her home.
Born June 16, 1930 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter to the late John Furl and the former Mary Barner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Jean Keiler, Mary Lou Boatman and Naomi Furl.
Leila was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School, where she was a majorette. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She retired after many years of service from AVCO.
Leila enjoyed family get-togethers, tending to her several flower gardens and loved all animals, especially her beloved cat. In years past, she was active with church activities including being a Sunday school teacher for many years, loved chatting and having afternoon tea with the neighbor ladies, going shopping and out to dinner with friends.
She is survived by her children, Christine Hiller Heinbach (Robert) of South Williamsport and Jeffrey Hiller (Tina) of Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore.
