Obituary
Lynn Sumner Bowes, 85, formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at his home in Florida.
Born Nov. 16, 1937 in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Lee and Jacque (Goodman) Bowes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Bowes; and a brother, Goody Bowes.
Lynn worked as a farmer all his life. Earlier in his life, he owned the Express newspaper, Jersey Shore Concrete, and the 2nd Cup Restaurant in Dunnstown. Lynn served as a member on the Jersey Shore School Board, the Jersey Shore Hospital Board, and JSSB Board.
He is survived by his sons, Brett (Julie) Bowes and Shannon Bowes; grandchildren, Lee (Danielle), Brittany, Todd (Casey), Shannon Jr., and Olivia Bowes; great-grandchildren, Jayla, Lane and Levi Bowes, Cora and Daxton Pelletier, and Eli Bowes; and his companion, Judy Burke.
There will be no services per his request. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
