Madison Wellington Combs Jr., 67, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna.
Born Oct. 18, 1953 in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Madison Wellington Combs Sr. and the former Elaine Atwell.
He was a retired air traffic controller and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for 12 years. Madison served as an Army recruiter and was an Army Ranger.
Madison graduated from West Virginia University.
He is survived by his wife, the former Maryann C. Schott. They were united in marriage on Jan. 22, 1977. Also surviving are three sons, Matthew E. (Stephanie) Combs of Lynchburg, Va., Jeremiah A. (Kristine) Combs of Decula, Ga. and Joshua R. Combs of Lock Haven and 4 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N Main St, Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Monday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home.
He will be laid to rest at a later date in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
