Mahlon T. Gibson, 87, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore.
He was born Nov. 18, 1932, to Thomas and Annabelle (Stewart) Gibson. In addition to his parents, Mahlon was predeceased by four siblings, Larue, Carl, Anne Fisher and Edna Mae Bower.
He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1951, and was a member of Larryville United Methodist Church his entire life. Mahlon retired from Lonza Chemical Inc. after 43 years of service.
Mahlon married Barbara (Willett) on Aug. 9, 1952, and they were happily married for 67 years.
Mahlon is survived by his wife; six children, Carmen (Stephen) Fischer, of Linden, Terri (Tom) Bittner, of Florida, Tom (Kim), of Jersey Shore, Tim (Lisa), of Nevada, Todd (Sheri), of South Carolina, and Tina (Russell) Marshall, of Jersey Shore; 14 grandkids; and 16 great-grandkids. He also has two living sisters, Mary Myers, of Lock Haven, and Doris Hafer, of Sayre.
He was fondly known as "Gibby" at work and "Uncle Buck" by his many nephews and nieces. He will be missed by his family who loved him dearly, is known for working hard and helping others and enjoyed traveling and hunting.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, a private family service will be held with Rev. Janelle Moser officiating. A memorial service will be planned later in the future.
