Marvin H. Willits

     Marvin H. Willits, 86, of Linden, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 20, 2022.  He was born on June 15, 1936, in his family home in Linden, the son of the late H. Hugh and May (Clark) Willits.

     Marvin attended the Level Corner one-room school and graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1953.  He married the former Nancy A. Jarrett on July 2, 1961, celebrating 61 years of marriage this year. 

     He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1958-1964.  He was a member of Pine Run Bible Church, serving in multiple areas over the 40 years he attended there.  He was also a member of the Pine Run Grange, serving as Master.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and active in the Salladasburg Elementary PTA when his children attended there, serving as President.

     He worked for Acme Markets for 40 years.  After retiring from Acme, he and his son, Alan, were co-owners of Jiffy Market and Deli, Jersey Shore.  He thoroughly enjoyed working at Jiffy, building meat trays, running errands, talking to the people, and helping in any way he could.

     Marvin enjoyed his cars, mowing his lawn, landscaping, and visiting with people.  He and his wife had a gift for hospitality, always welcoming others to their home.  Above all, he enjoyed and cared for his family; having all his family together was his ultimate joy. 

     He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son, Alan H. (Yvonne) Willits; his daughter, Sheila A. (Dan) Paulhamus; two granddaughters, Leah M. Paulhamus and Alicia K. Willits.

     Visitation will be from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.  Burial will be in Woodward Township Cemetery.

     The family will provide the flowers.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Run Bible Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, PA  17744.
