Mary Ann Welshans, 89, of Collomsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born April 8, 1932, in McElhattan, Pa., she was one of fifteen children to the late Robert and Minnie (Cashner) Wagner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merril Welshans, whom she married on March 7, 1957. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing.
She was a homemaker her entire life and from a very early age was a farmer. When she was able, she always had a pet; her favorite being Sparky. She also helped in Dewalt’s Greenhouse for many years and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her two children, Debra Johnson (David) of Collomsville and Gerald Wagner (Donna) of Oval; two grandchildren, Lindsy Kendall (Drew) and Adam Dewalt; and a great grandchild, McKenzie Kendall.
Mary Ann enjoyed completing puzzle books and playing on her iPad. Family was of the utmost importance to Mary Ann and she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She loved being a wife, mother and grammy. Mary Ann looked forward to after-school conversations with her only great granddaughter, McKenzie and loved spending every day in the summer with McKenzie. Mary Ann will be remembered for playing a mean game of rummy and her famous red velvet cake.
In keeping with mom’s unconditional love, consider passing along an act of kindness in her memory.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Oval Cemetery.
