Olive Kaufman Obituary


      Olive B. "Tootie" Kaufman, 87, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022 at ProMedica Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jersey Shore.
      Born Jan. 29, 1935 in Owego, N.Y., she was a daughter to the late Alfred Henry Lupold and the former Margaret Elizabeth Gertrude Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Robert, Raymond, Paul and Calvin Lupold; and five sisters, Myra Whitmore, Rachel Brownley, Grace Hallett, Margaret Thelma Conser and Bertha Stout.
      Tootie was a member of the Oval United Methodist Church. She retired from Woolrich after many years of service. No one was a stranger in Tootie's house. She always had food on the table for anyone who came to visit. She loved to cook, bake and sew.
      She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis G. Kaufman, they were united in marriage on Feb. 27, 1952. Also surviving are her daughters, Ginny Kaufman and Guila âWootzã Mertz (Bill McCloskey); grandchildren, Eva Sichko, Becky Matea, Jason Heck (Val Blass) and Mika (Jewelyanna) Mertz; great-grandchildren, Celeste Snyder, Gabriel Sichko, Nate Heck, Madie Heck and Penelope Mertz; sister,    Roberta Jean Moltz; and special friend, Mike Mertz.
      A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening, August 21 at Welker Funeral Home.
      Funeral services will be private. She will be laid to rest in the Oval Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
