Owen served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963, in the Trans. Corps., and was deployed for the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a truck driver for most of his life, retiring in 2018 from Lucas Trucking.
Owen enjoyed woodworking, antique cars, Ford trucks, and making people laugh, but most of all his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his family.
Surviving is his sweet wife of 2 years, Patty M. Jones; his daughters, Celeste (Matt) Baumgartner and Melissa Kelchner; his sons, Seth (Robin) Kelchner, Owen Wesley II (Julie) Kelchner, and Justin (Melanie) Kelchner; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and his three sisters Carol (Monty) Waldvogel, Pamela (Neihl) Crooks, and Jennie (Stephen) Kanski.
Owen’s celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at City Church, 36 E 4th St., Williamsport. The Rev. Matt Holcomb will be officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore. (Owen’s father, grandfather and great grandfather were previous owners of the home.)
