For many years, Palmer owned and operated Wetzel Lumber Company in Salladasburg. He was an active and skilled member of the Jersey Shore Legion Pool Team. He was fondly referred to by many as Poppy, Junior, and even the mayor of Brookside.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his witty one-liners, storytelling, brute strength and business savvy. His children will remember him for his faithfulness to our family, his generosity and exemplar of a man who was strong when needed, but gentle in character. He will be deeply missed.
