Patricia Mary Abila Kulp, 79, of Loganton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at her home.
She was born on March 19, 1942 in Oakland, California. Her father, Peter Abila, was an immigrant from Guadalajara, Mexico. Her mother’s, Caroline Souza, parents immigrated from Madiera, Portugal in the early 1900’s.
Pat, aka Patsy, as she was called in her younger years, was the fifth child born to Peter and Caroline. Her siblings John, Mimi, Peter, Carol Ann and Richard preceded her in death; along with her husband, LaRue F. Kulp, they were united in marriage on Oct. 31, 1965.
She is survived by her son, Mitchell L. Kulp of Loganton; daughters, Heather M. Harper of Lock Haven and Patti S. (Fred) Kulp of Jersey Shore; her companion of many years, Dick Weaver, of Beech Creek; grandchildren, Evan,Taylor, Tara,Gage and Pierce; four great-grand-children, Braelyn , Liam , Riverlynn, and newest addition week old Lennox Jon; her two sisters, Dolores & Barbara, who reside in the Western United States; and scores of nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
Her and her husband took in many foster children throughout the years. Though two become her bonus sons Joe (Lynn) Severino and Tim (Trish) Severino. They gave her many bonus grandchildren as well.
Patsy would stop for any yard or garage sale, and loved finding a deal. Growing up in a big family, can cause one to feel lost, not Patsy. She secured her place with unending kindness, humor, and a keen ability to tell a scary story. Her nieces and nephews have many fond memories of her ability to transcend hard times, and make them laugh and/or shiver with fear when she told spooky stories.
