Paul G. Tawney, 88, of Linden, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026 at UPMC Williamsport.
Born April 15, 1938 in Williamsport, he was a son to the late Gorman Tawney and the former Ada Grove. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Tawney.
Paul honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as a plant manager at Abbey Modular Homes after many years of service and was a member of the Ascension Catholic Church in Williamsport.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Joyce E. Kulp, they were united in marriage on November 14, 1959; daughters, Brenda K. Tawney, of Linden, Laurie A. (David) Haines, of Glassboro, NJ, and Diane M. Tawney, of South Williamsport; two sisters, Mary Root, of Hughesville and Sandra Dragone, of Hohenwald, TN; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore. He will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Treatment Center at Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA 17701.
