Penny Hillyard Obituary

Penny Lee Hillyard, 63, of Jersey Shore, passed away suddenly on Dec. 11, 2021.
She is survived by her beloved son, Nathan Helminiak and his wife, Tina. Penny had a great love for family, especially her grandson, Sawyer, who affectionately called her Dogmama. Penny is also survived by her father, Carl Hillyard; and siblings, Richie Hillyard (Nichole Fisher) and Stephanie Carey (Samuel Lush), as well as nephews and a niece, Jeremy and Chad Hillyard (Lauren Melenric), Bryce Norman (Justin), Ethan, Benjamin (Rebecca) and Jacob Carey; and great-nephews, Eli and Jack Carey. Also surviving are the extended Hillyard and Hill families.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Hillyard.
Penny had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, and leaves behind Jackson and Brodee. She loved music and spending time on the Pine Creek with her family. She was always willing to help others however she could, including opening her home to family and friends in their time of need.
Before retirement, she worked at Hope Enterprises and as an in-home caregiver. Penny’s final act of giving was through the Gift of Life Donor Program.
Relatives and friends of Penny are invited to gather on Saturday, February 5. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am at the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel for family, followed by a Celebration of Penny’s life at Bald Birds Brewery from 11am to 3 pm where all are welcome.
