Richard A. Barnes

     Richard A. Barnes, 64, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at UPMC Susquehanna.

     Born July 30, 1957 in Hershey, he was a son to the late Chilton J. Barnes Sr. and the former Agnes Maskarine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chilton J. Barnes Jr.

     Richard was an avid hunter, outdoors-man, and enjoyed spending his time at his home away from home at the Haneyville Campground. His greatest love was his family and all of his adopted kids.

     He is survived by four children, Chris (Michelle) Barnes of Dauphin, Megan (Heather) Barnes of Williamsport, Andrew (Katherine) Barnes of Jersey Shore and Nichole Barnes of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Ethan, Brooke and Abby; sister, Darlis (David) Cleek of Tennessee; brother, Gary (Susan) Barnes of Dillsburg; numerous nieces and nephews; five grand dogs; and many many friends.

     A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Visiting times will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Welker Funeral Home. Following the service, there will be a time of food and fellowship at Bald Birds Brewery (upstairs), 220 Shaffer Lane, Jersey Shore.
