Richard Gary McGinness

     Richard Gary McGinness, 84, of Avis, passed away Feb. 14, 2023 at Divine Providence Hospital.

     Born Jan. 4, 1939 in Lock Haven, he was the son to the late Richard Allen McGinness and the former Reba Workman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Glenda Lee Miller, on October 30, 2021; and brothers, Lynn McGinness and Buster Strunk.

     Richard was a member of Jersey Shore Elks, and retired to Florida, where he loved to play golf. In 2014 he and Glenda returned to Avis.

     He is survived by his brothers, Wayne and Michael McGinness; children, Dennis McGinness, Kim Nichols, and Kelly Alexander; six grandchildren, Heather, Brock, Kelly Jo, Austin, Gabriel, and Samuel; five great-grandchildren, Shephard, Sophie, McKinley, Oliver, and Micah.

     A graveside service for Richard and his wife, Glenda, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Highland Cemetery, 6 Akeley Lane, Lock Haven, PA.
