Richard S. Stripp, 61, of Jersey Shore, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born February 28, 1958 in Pittsburgh, he was the son to Bernard Stripp and the former Shirley Gower, of Williamsport.
Richard was an outdoors man and an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt. He had worked at Equip Co. in Pittsburgh. For many years he was a volunteer at the Independent Hose Company No. 1 and also volunteered his time as a Little League Coach in Jersey Shore. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jersey Shore.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, the former Cathy L. Kline, they were united in marriage on September 18, 1976 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Jersey Shore; a daughter, Stephanie Stripp (Scott Grow) of Jersey Shore; a son, Scott A. (Angie) Stripp of Jersey Shore; a sister, Lori (Dennis) Paulhamus of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Lee, Cru and Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening, December 20, 2019 at Frederick B.Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning, December 21, 2019 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 174 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Jersey Shore. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Lee Kline and the Rev. Veronica Donohue Chappell will officiate.
He will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family.
