Robert E. Merrill

      Robert E. Merrill, 83, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at his home.
      Born May 11, 1938, in Swissdale, Pa. He was the son to the late James Merrill and the former Erma Barto. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith A. Merrill; son, David W. "Butch" Merrill and a granddaughter, Heather Ann Merrill.
      He is survived by two sons, Michael A. (Lori) Merrill of Lock Haven and Randall L. (Christine) Merrill of Lock Haven; Two daughters, Karen Merrill McCloskey of McElhattan and Wendy D. (Millard) Long of McElhattan; two sisters, Velma Shoemaker of McElhattan and Leotta (Gene) Summerson of McElhattan; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
      Robert retired Jersey Shore Steel after many years of service.  He was also a self-employed logger for Merrill Logging.
      A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street, Jersey Shore, Pa.  A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., Friday, at Welker Funeral Home.
