Rodney L. Wheeland, 63, formerly of Trout Run, passed away Monday, January 22, peacefully at home following an extended illness.
He was born February 15, 1960, to Ronald L. and Minnie R. (Hipple) Wheeland.
Surviving besides his wife Theresa, are his father Ronald of Trout Run, a son Jeremy of Williamsport, brother Rusty of Mars Hill, NC, sister Robyn Giacomi (Donnie) of Trout Run, brothers-in-law Joseph (Barb) Yorks and Jeffry Yorks both of Oriole, sisters-in-law Jan (Steve) Schramm of Williamsport, Juli (Al) of Selinsgrove and Jodi (JD) of Jersey Shore, stepson Ryan (Rea) Williamson of Idaho, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Ricky, daughter Teresa, and mother Minnie.
Rodney and Theresa celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in December. He has worked for several factories in Williamsport including Trimtex, and relocated to Bristol, TN, where he worked for Bristol Tubular for many years. Rodney enjoyed hunting and carpentry. His favorite color was camo.
Service will be February 10 at 10:00 am at the Oval Church, 6796 Route 44 Hwy, Jersey Shore, PA (in Oval). Graveside service immediately following.
At Rodney’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
